  • Where are the classes located?
    Our classes take place on a spacious indoor basketball court located at the Seaforth Community Center, situated at the intersection of Baringa Avenue and Koobilya St, Seaforth, NSW 2092.
  • Is there parking?
    Yes, ample parking is available with 22 designated spots along Koobilya St, in addition to convenient street parking.
  • Are there toilets in the venue?
    Restroom facilities at our venue include male toilets with a change room, female toilets with a change room, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet equipped with a diaper changing table.
  • How do I know which class I should enroll my child in?
    Selecting the right class for your child depends on their age, skill level, and familiarity with basketball. Our 'Rising Hoopers' class is perfect for total beginners aged 6 to 8 while our 'Rising Stars' class suits those aged 9 and up with some basketball knowledge. If you're uncertain, our coaches are happy to assess your child's skills and recommend the most suitable class to ensure an enjoyable and enriching experience.   • How many coaches are there?
    Coach Chris leads each class, accompanied by 1 to 3 assistant coaches, depending on the class size, as we strive to maintain a favourable coach-to-athlete ratio for optimal learning and individual attention.
  • My child has never played basketball before. Can I enroll in these classes?
    Absolutely! Our classes cater to all skill levels, including beginners. The 'Rising Hoopers' class is specifically designed for children aged 6 to 8 who are new to basketball. Our coaches will provide a supportive and engaging environment, introducing fundamental skills and fostering a love for the game. It's the perfect starting point for your child's basketball journey, and we're excited to welcome beginners to our program.
  • How long does the program run for?
    Classes are every Saturday afternoon during school term. For Terms 2 to 4, there are 9 sessions.
  • How much are the classes?
    Our Excellence Program is $315 for 9 classes which covers all Saturdays of school term. Class passes can also be purchased for $35 each.
  • What’s the Excellence Program?
    Enrolling in our Excellence Program for the full term, spanning 9 classes, provides a distinct advantage for young athletes. This extended duration allows students to delve deeply into a comprehensive curriculum, covering fundamental techniques to advanced skills. Consistent attendance fosters skill mastery, confidence building, and a strong sense of teamwork and sportsmanship. By committing to the entire term, parents ensure their child experiences optimal skill retention, emphasising dedication, and reaping the holistic benefits of our program—shaping not just skilled players but well-rounded individuals.
  • How do Class Passes work?
    If your schedule doesn't permit committing to our Excellence Program for the entire term, we offer the flexibility of Class Passes. Simply choose the number of classes you'd like and select the start date for your first class. You'll be automatically enrolled for consecutive weeks until your Class Pass is exhausted.   • What are your Term dates?
    We are operational every Saturday during school term. Additionally, it's worth noting that each week will have a specific skill focus, providing a well-rounded and progressive learning experience.
  • Can I book on certain dates instead of the whole term?
    Absolutely! You have the flexibility to enrol with Class Passes, allowing you to choose specific dates that work with your schedule. You can tailor the schedule to accommodate your availability and ensure a convenient and enjoyable experience for both you and your child. Additionally, it's worth noting that each week will have a specific skill focus, providing a well-rounded and progressive learning experience.   • What if my child misses a class?
    In the event that your child misses a class, we offer the flexibility to transfer the missed session within the same term. This means you have the option to allocate the missed class to a sibling or another child, ensuring that the learning experience is not missed. Please email us at letsplay@riseyouthbasketball.com to assist you in the class transfer.
  • Can I transfer my child to another class or time slot after the classes have started?
    Certainly! If your child needs to switch classes after the term has begun, please reach out to us at letsplay@riseyouthbasketball.com. We'll do our best to accommodate the transfer, taking into consideration class availability and ensuring a smooth transition for your child.
  • What should my child wear?
    We recommend youth athletes wear comfortable sports attire, including breathable clothing and proper training or basketball shoes.
  • Does my child need to bring anything?
    To ensure your child has a great experience in our classes, please make sure they bring the following: A water bottle for staying hydrated A size 5 basketball for Rising Hoopers A size 6 basketball for Rising Stars Optionally, a towel and change of clothes for added comfort during and after the session.
  • What if my child has allergies or special needs?
    We prioritise the safety and well-being of every participant. If your child has allergies or special needs, please inform us during the enrollment process or send an email to letsplay@riseyouthbasketball.com. Our team will work closely with you to understand and accommodate any specific requirements, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for your child's participation.
  • What will happen if there is inappropriate behaviour during class?
    We maintain a positive and respectful learning environment for all participants, and the safety and respect towards our coaches are of utmost importance. In the rare instance of inappropriate behaviour, our coaches will address the situation promptly and professionally. Depending on the severity, we may have a discussion with the child involved, and if necessary, with the parents, to find a resolution and maintain a conducive atmosphere for everyone in the class.
  • Can I enrol siblings in the same class?
    Absolutely! We encourage family participation, and you can enrol siblings in the same class. However, we recommend considering the different skill levels of siblings. Our coaches are experienced in assessing individual skills, and if needed, they can provide insights to ensure that each child gets the most out of the class. Feel free to discuss any specific considerations or have our coaches assess the best fit for your siblings during the enrollment process by sending short videos of each child to letsplay@riseyouthbasketball.com.
  • Is there a discount for siblings?
    Yes, we extend a 5% discount for families with up to four siblings enrolled in our programs. We believe in promoting inclusivity and facilitating a shared learning experience for multiple family members.   • What are the credentials of your coaches?
    At RISE Youth Basketball Academy, we pride ourselves on having highly qualified coaches dedicated to your child's development. Coach Chris is a distinguished USA Basketball Certified Coach, boasting a remarkable 13-year coaching journey. Widely regarded as Sydney's secret weapon, Coach Chris is the go-to mentor for semi-professional players, specialising in refining shooting, footwork, and court IQ through private sessions. In addition, our assistant coaches are all experienced professionals, each holding a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC). This ensures a safe and nurturing environment for every participant. Rest assured, our coaching team is committed to providing top-notch guidance and fostering a positive learning experience for your child.
